Blackberries are for the birds. I am perfectly content with my crappy, free cell phone lacking a camera or internet access. In fact, I will never spend more than $30 on a mobile phone again. And look, one of my favorite directors, David Lynch, feels the same way. The genius creator of Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks and Mulholland Driver puts it bluntly and I couldn’t agree more.”

I’m in love with a DJ

It’s Wednesday, hump day. Lord what a hill. I need a drink tonight; some love tonight. Not the type you get from a forehead kiss or an intimate other. What I’m searching for can only be fulfilled by a crowded room full of music lovers. Many can testify to the energy of a good concert. Everybody moving in a type of unity, yelling familiar phrases. For me this feeling of communal, musical unity extends beyond a live performance. Many underestimate the artistry of a DJ. A good DJ is the performer, moving and engaging the crowd. This engagement is equal to falling in love. I wouldn’t go so far to say “a dj saved my life”. But a DJ definitely added another love to my life.
