Dangerous Hurricane Gustav aimed for a midnight Monday landfall on the central Louisiana coast just west of Houma as a Category 3 storm.

This is def. the sexiest video in America at this one moment in time. Lykee Li reminds me of Diana Ross back in the day. Super high vocals. Indie backgrounds.

“There’s a reason for experienced New Orleans area meteorologists to warn hurricane watchers not to put much stock in predictions of a storm’s ultimate landfall until it gets into the Gulf of Mexico, and Gustav continues to prove them right…
Recent model runs have broadened the playing field, with potential “solutions” ranging from Gustav only reaching the Yucatan Peninsula on a westward path at five days to curving through the central Gulf and then heading east of Tallahassee, Fla.”
As for me, I’ll be on Nola.com trying to figure this ish out.
We all know what happened at Katrina and I strongly believe in the mantra “Better safe than sorry.” But right now, there’s not enough information to make a logical decision. Calm down.

Tipitina’s is the forefront of New Orleans live music venues. If you are a resident of New Orleans, or just happen to be in New Orleans, you should take some time out of your day to go to Tipitina’s. That being said, if you like good music, then you should go to Tipitina’s on Thursday night to see Mos Def. This is your chance to see an extremely politically, vocal, and socially conscious rapper, a man who outwardly addressed issues related to Hurrican Katrina. Additionally you can see Sunni Patterson, Truth Universal, Sess 4-5, Gabrilla Ballard, and the Venezualan hip-hop group, Elleguae.
This show is a benefit for Black August which you can read more about here: http://www.mxgm.org/
Not only is this a chance to see a fantastic rapper in one of the best New Orleans venues, but you will also be supporting the promotion of human rights though supporting and influencing the global development of Hip Hop culture.
