Tipitina’s is the forefront of New Orleans live music venues. If you are a resident of New Orleans, or just happen to be in New Orleans, you should take some time out of your day to go to Tipitina’s. That being said, if you like good music, then you should go to Tipitina’s on Thursday night to see Mos Def. This is your chance to see an extremely politically, vocal, and socially conscious rapper, a man who outwardly addressed issues related to Hurrican Katrina. Additionally you can see Sunni Patterson, Truth Universal, Sess 4-5, Gabrilla Ballard, and the Venezualan hip-hop group, Elleguae.

This show is a benefit for Black August which you can read more about here: http://www.mxgm.org/blackaugust/the-history-of-black-august.html

Not only is this a chance to see a fantastic rapper in one of the best New Orleans venues, but you will also be supporting the promotion of human rights though supporting and influencing the global development of Hip Hop culture.

Thursday August 28

Doors: 9PM

Show: 10PM

Tickets: $20 advance,$25 at door

See you there.

there has been talk of me leaving nola tonight in order to beat the “OMFG THERE’S A HURRICANE” traffic jam, but if i’m still in town, i’ll be there. I didn’t know that Sunni Patterson was performing to, I’m a fan.
