I received this email from Zeitgeist, a company that plays some pretty dope movies. I decided to post it to the blog:
Zeitgeist’s Bailout Plan:
Zeitgeist is broke. We have not paid our October rent yet and owe money to several film distributors, but not for our past programming, we need money for advanced film rentals for several films we have booked for later in October and November. The way it works is you send the film distributor a guaranteed minimum rental and then they send you the film.
Zeitgeist receives no grants or public funds, so this “Bailout Plan” will not cost the tax payers one red cent.

editors note: Tiffany Irving, like many other New Orleanians, was given the boot by Hurricane Katrina. After years in Birmingham, she is finally reunited with her first love.
It’s been 3 years since the storm that shares the namesake of my favorite female rapper from Miami and the same amount of time since I’ve lived in the crescent city. Like many others, when Katrina exacted her wrath on the Gulf Coast, I relocated to higher ground, with the intentions of returning soon after. That stormed exposed a lot of what was wrong with NOLA, because she, like other big cities, had skeletons–only hers were washed out of the closet with the river waters that breached the levees. What I thought would be just one semester at the University of Alabama at Birmingham turned into my life, which included a wedding, a child, owning my first home, and my dream job. Living in Birmingham meant a lot of different things to me: it meant great schools, clean streets, and well paved roads (anyone who’s ever driven in New Orleans knows why this is important), but also ignorant intolerance of all things not in line with mainstream conservative thinking.
