Gene Amondson the Prohibition Party candidate
Background
He was born in 1943 in Morton, Washington. He is an oil painter, makes life-sized wood carvings, writer of Gene Amondson’s Illustrated Mt. Rainier Pies Cookbook, and a minister. He is a Prohibition activist who was the 2004 United States presidential candidate for one faction of the Prohibition Party and the nominee of the party in 2008.
Prohibition
He wants to fight for the right for Americans to be free from alcohol. This is the only issue that he has. Amondson calls for the death penalty after the 4th DWI conviction. He is a preacher, but also says if Jesus taught moderation or responsible drinking he was not that bright. He likes to get out his message by walking around talking to people dressed up as the grim reaper.

Studio at Colton School opens to the public with All Saints Day Ramble! The Studio at Colton School, a project of the Creative Alliance of New Orleans (CANO), invites its St. Claude area and citywide neighbors along with national and international art lovers in town for Prospect.1 to celebrate its grand opening to the public on November 1st.
The day will include an All Saints Day Ramble which will begin at St. Roch Cemetery to honor the culture and legacy of our ancestral New Orleanians who perished during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and will progress to ramble from the cemetery to the Colton School with beats and music by the Douglass High School marching band and Treme Brass Band. Wrapping up in the backyard at Colton School, neighbors, friends, families, artists and visitors will be encouraged to gather for food and drinks from local vendors, hang out with Mardi Gras Indians from four local tribes, participate in an all-star drum circle featuring Julian Garcia, Luther Gray, Ivory Holmes, and Uganda Roberts and wander the school grounds to take in aone-of-a-kind collection of inspiring installations and musical events.
The three-pronged installation and performance segment of the All Saints Day celebration beginning at 5 p.m. will feature the Living Stereo performance featuring the Charmaine Neville Band, will be performed on multiple pianos and other instruments placed strategically throughout the 100,000 square foot building and broadcast live on WSCS 89.5, the official Studio at Colton School radio station. The art installation “Convergence,” a collaborative, mixed media piece using theatrical props and techniques will also be available for viewing at this time in the form of traveling one-act performances throughout the building. Also, “New Orleans Sinphony #2,” a performance installation by Robert Tannen and Peter Spring to be held in the Red Ballroom at the Studio presenting many forms of New Orleans music played on multiple pianos and matched with various traditional and contemporary styles of dance.Lastly, ArtSpot Productions will present the world premier of four new installments of “The Saint Plays,” internationally acclaimed playwright Erik Ehn’s ongoing cycle of contemporary adaptations of the lives of Catholic Saints. The plays, which have been written specifically for New Orleans, will be performed by Mondo Bizarro, Cripple Creek Theatre Company and Andrew Larimer.

Three years ago a young man began to write his feelings about life, death, love and how the feeling of each is almost interchangeable. Through poetry, he expresses our deepest fears, pains, hopes and dreams mingled with his own, and explores the idea that the only way these things possibly exist or could come to pass was with these two bare necessities.
Love and Water is a gripping, immensely passionate, recollection of what happens when we love something too much to let it go, and all the consequences that come with that. Seemingly dark at times, this author leaves just enough light to shine upon your soul. He takes us through the whys and hows of the chances we take, the loves we’ve lost and the loves we’ll make. Written, illustrated, and published by Nik Richard, a 22 year old New Orleans Native, it is a vivid allegory that captures all the people, places and things that make us who we are, the good and bad.

“Although our hearts were broken
Our souls were Freed,
And honestly
Love and a little bit of water was all
I ever had
And come to find out ,
That’s all she needed.”
